Casual Carnage began with one hobbyist looking to play his first game of Warhammer 40.000. What started as a simple search for a match quickly transformed into something bigger: people showed up, wanted to join the fun, and asked for more. A community started to form.
Today, Casual Carnage has grown out to be a community coming together to play exciting games together, both in Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40.000, united by a desire for a friendly and welcoming environment.
Our mission
We exist to grow and support the local community of wargamers, providing opportunity and means to those looking to feel connected in the hobby, and to those looking to expand their hobbying at home. our goal is to create a space where anyone – veterans to first-time players or no-clue-what’s-going-on-but-i-like-the-minis people – can connect to fellow hobbyists, be inspired and encourage themselves and others to explore everything the hobby offers.
Whether it’s narrative missions, quick matchups to try out new models, cool battlefields, long lasting campaigns, team games or learning the many, many rules together of the game we love, we welcome everyone to join.
Why Utrecht needed this
Utrecht has always had a vibrant community – but it was lacking the means to get people together, and that’s where we come in. Local stores can’t always host larger groups or games, and that’s where Casual Carnage provides.
Regular events, large spaces, terrain and a community. Casual Carnage brings together everyone:

Community first
The community connects most easily through a very lively Whatsapp-group, where we enjoy ourselves as the “plastic crack addicts” all of us have found ourselves to be.
Events invite people from their hobby-rooms, living rooms, dining tables and other simple solutions to large spaces with even larger tables, able to host many players together as we enjoy the hobby. Events let you play games, paint and build together, and spectate others as they get their carnage on.

Looking ahead
Casual Carnage is still very young, but we aim to provide the local community with:

Narratives, Crusades, Tournaments, Pub quizzes, hobby days, cooperative sessions and more will be central to us, all conducted in the spirit of casual fun, good sportmanship, creativity and inclusivity.
